Contracted Hours
You will be required to complete a form with the hours you need for childcare. These are the hours you will be guaranteed each week. If you need time outside of your contracted hours, I will need to see if I have an opening.
Open Door
Parents are welcome to visit or call to check in at anytime. If you need to speak with me regarding any issues please call between 8:00 pm-9:00pm so that you will have my undivided attention.
Late Pickup
Please understand that my family and I may have plans after my childcare closes for the evening. If you are going to be late, Please give me as much advanced notice as possible so that I can plan accordingly. Also, late pickups (after your contracted pick up time) will result in fees. This fee will be $1/minute and are due immediately upon picking up your child.
Returned Check
Any check returned due to NSF will be charged a $35 fee plus any other fees that I incur due to your bounced check ALL future payments will be made in cash or money order.
Payments/ Late Payments
Payment is due before services begin. Payments can be made twice a month (ie.1st and 15th) for the following weeks care or monthly with payment due on the 1st of every month for subsequent months care. Payment dates will sometimes fall on the weekend when this happens your payment is expected the Friday before. When payment is not received on the agreed day a late charge of $5/day will be added until payment is made. To avoid late fees you can enroll in automatic payments through www.childcarepay.com. Upon enrolling in my program I will set up a user ID and a generic password that you can change when you log into the website. This is wonderful tool and is free to you so I hope that you will utilize it.
Deposit/Holding Fees
A one-time non-refundable fee of $125/child is required to enroll your child in to my program.
Termination
The following are (but not limited to) grounds for termination: Non-payment of fees, uncooperative parents, failure to attend 2 consecutive days without notification or if any situation/problems arise that can not be resolved by either party. A 2 week notice is needed if you are ending your childcare contract. If this notice is not given, payment for those 2 weeks in lieu of notice is required.
Extended Leave/Maternity Leave/Summer Leave
This provision is only available for full time clients whose children will be out of regular care for a leave of absence of more than two weeks, you will be required to pay a part time rate of at least two days per week for up to 12 weeks. Your child may attend during this time any two consistent days that work for both of us. If a holiday falls on one of your days, you will be required to pay for that holiday. If space is available you may pay for additional days at the part time rate. After 12 weeks, full tuition is required. If you discontinue care for the summer, there will be no guarantee of a childcare spot in the fall. If you discontinue care during this type of leave you will be required to give two weeks’ notice and pay the full time tuition rate. This leave is only available 1 time per calendar year January - December.
Provider Vacation
You will be given a 1-2 month notice for my vacation your bill will be reduced accordingly. When I use vacation time it is the parent’s responsibility to find/have backup provider.
Illness
In consideration for the other children in my care and my own family, please don’t bring your child if he/she has experienced any of the following within 24 hours prior to care:
- Vomiting - Dark mucous discharge - Severe diarrhea
- High fever - Severe cough
- Any communicable illness including (but not limited to):
Pink eye, Chicken Pox, Strep throat
Likewise, if one of my children is sick I will let you know ASAP if I will need to be closed your bill would be reduced for these days.
Personal (Mental Health/Sick Kids) & Training Days
As needed I will have to take days off for training and personal reasons. You will be given as much advanced notice as possible on these days. It is your responsibility to find/have a back-up provider. There is no payment due on these days and it will be reflected on your next billing cycle.
Substitute Caregivers
There will be times I am out of the house for appointments so instead of closing I will have one of the following people come in to take care of the kids in my absence. You will always be made aware of this in advance unless it is an emergency with my family. I have 3 substitutes that are listed on my state licensing paperwork: Greg and Jill DeGeldere my in-laws and Jason my husband.
Abuse/Neglect
North Dakota Laws require all childcare providers to report any signs or observations of abuse to social services. CandiLand Childcare will not release a child to an adult who has been consuming alcohol; a backup person will be contacted.
Employment/Hiring
I will not employ an individual who would have contact with the children cared for in my home who has plead guilty to or pled no contest to: homicide, assaults-threats-coercion, kidnapping, gross sexual imposition, corruption or solicitation of minors, sexual abuse of wards, sexual assault, robbery, prostitution, or any other offense not listed above that has been determined unacceptable by the guidelines set up by the State of North Dakota.
Nap/Quiet Time
It is very important for ALL children to have a couple hours of down time. Therefore we do have daily nap/quiet time; this time is approximately from 12:45-3 pm. All children are required to lie quietly; they do not have to sleep. However, if your child falls asleep during this time I will not wake them up until quiet time is over. I feel that if they fall asleep their body is telling them the NEED it. If they wake up before quiet time is done they will be allowed to look at a book quietly. Older children after 1 hour may get up and read quietly. I would appreciate your cooperation with this matter.
Medications
Permission slips are required to be filled out prior to medicines being administered to your child.
Supplies
Parents are required to bring the following to leave here and replenish as needed: cloth or disposable diapers, cotton underwear if potty training, bottles for infants, breast milk/formula (if not enrolled in the food program or you choose not to accept the kind I provide) and extra clothes.
Please leave your child’s toys at home. I am not responsible if it is brought and gets lost or damaged.
I expect a certain amount of wear and tear to my home, but willful destruction will not be tolerated and parents will be responsible for either replacement costs of item(s) damaged or donations for supplies.
Potty Training
I will assist you in this process with the understanding that it will be successful only if we work together. I will use cotton underwear (3 or 5 ply). Send your child in ONLY easy off/on clothes until they are able to completely undress themselves. I require at least 5 complete outfits during this time. I will launder the soiled items for you.
Special Occasions
Birthdays- I will provide cake/cupcakes and a gift from the group for the child.
Christmas- All children will exchange names for gifts; please don’t spend more than $10.
Meals & Snacks
I am enrolled in the Child & Adult Care Food Program. I follow the guidelines set to ensure your children get the proper nourishment through out our day. Please review our daily schedule; meals are served at specific times. If you bring your child after the allotted time, they will eat at the next mealtime.

My vehicle is in safe operating condition and is in compliance with state and local laws and will only be used for scheduled trips that are pre-approved by the parents.
